Central Jakarta Jakpreuners Participate in Consultation to Get BPOM MD Certification

Central Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperative, Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) Sub-agency collaborates with Jakarta Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) to carry out mobile information and certification services (kerling). This activity was held for two days on November 22-23 at Central Jakarta Mayor Office, Jalan Tanah Abang 1, Gambir.

Central Jakarta PPKUKM Sub-agency Head, Melinda Sagala mentioned, this service was carried out for MSMEs in order to obtain distribution permit for domestically produced foods (BPOM MD) certification.

"We instruct 100 fostered MSMEs from 8 sub-districts and Jakpreneurs under PPKUKM Sub-agency to participate in consultation thus they can understand how to get BPOM MD certification. In order to obtain the certification, Jakpreneurs are required to have micro and small business license, produce food products minimum in three months, and have followed P2 and P7," she explained, Monday (11/22).

Here are Tips for Choosing Healthy Food Products

By participating consultation service, she expected Jakpreneurs can prepare layout plans for production room which is one of the condition for issuance of BPOM MD certificate.

"Through this consultation, Jakpreneurs have to plan the layout of production room where it is different from household kitchen to maintain the food safety," she asserted.

One of Jakpreneurs from Menteng Sub-district, Helen (40) said, the consultation really helped her as MSME to maintain high hygiene and food safety. In running food and pastry catering business, she plans to produce frozen food for her business.

"I was advised to do production in separate place from other rooms. I also received other instructions that were quite clear," she conveyed.
